Greetings Good People!

Here we are, a matter of dayz before the New Year. New year. New year. 2008! And what's our resolution? We gonna take it from the Funkadelics as we face even more of this crazy fascist shit: “This is a chance, this is a chance to DANCE OUR WAY out of these constrictions” by dancing harder for the Freedom for ALL the Political Prisoners. Harder-harder. Working harder. A JAM SESSION with the drum beats from our hearts setting the rhythm. Creatively, and strategically. We are going into this new year with even more on our hands. So what! Pour it on! The San Francisco 8 case. Mumia's kourt case still goes without that damn judges' decision, The MOVE 9's parole hearing — 2008 yall. Same shit with Leonard Peltier's prospects for getting out. The most recent grand jury indictments (AGAIN) against the Puerto Rican Independentistas, and the just as recent arrests of Jericho LA member organization — the Black Riders Liberation Party revolutionaries. And the list could go on. But so do we...

The most recent addition to our list, the Animal liberation PPs are holding firm and their constituencies are continuing to bridge-build with our liberation PP support movements. Every seemingly gloomy report is actually full of inspiring little stories of solidarity activities.

2007 was a year of such inspiring little stories. Of good collaborations. Of food-filled joint PP letter-writing dayz and fund-raisers that split proceeds between organizations. Panels continue to include an array of formerly excluded voices. So, because of Jericho's embrace of ALL the political prisoners, it is no longer unusual to have black liberation, native american, chicano, puerto rican, white anti-racist & anti-imperialists and animal and earth defenders on the same panels and sponsoring the same programs, connecting the dots, putting forth respective reasons why we need to be in solidarity. We are traveling together, sharing stories and experiences and wisdoms, deepening understandings and commitments not only to the work, as we say, but to the visions that are the foundations of our reasons for being. For being the free folks we have chosen to be in the face of Empire and King Incarcerate!

So we meet problems as opportunities, as the time to figure shit out. So we meet the challenge to make a great year of 2008 because it is our 10th anniversary year. What will we do, where will we decide to go, and whom will we build with? And though it still aint seemed to be settled, we are absolutely clear on the WHY we need to JERICHO FORWARD, to JAM forward. JAMistas, that's who we are in 2008. The year of elections as circuses, the year of critical international issues around TORTURE and the freedom of Palestine and the inability of liberal leftish movements, of liberal anti-war movements to prioritize DOMESTIC TORTURE of indigenous warriors and warriors of African-ascent, like the SF 8. But that's why we are the jamistas. Maybe we will jam at the democratic and republican conventions. Maybe we will JAM the conventions, period. As in Ya Basta! Maybe we will tremble the sidewalks leading to the United Nations for the world to know about “white elephant” or the “black swan” issue of POLITICAL PRISONERS. Maybe we will continue to find way, to find rhizomatic paths into the heart and soul of our very communities so that when Desmond Tutu and other courageous and world-renown fighters speak up for us it will resound loudly!

DECEMBER - SPRING - SUMMER AND FALL. ALL 2008 IS OUR ANNIVERSARY YEAR. WHY STOP AT MARCH, APRIL AUGUST? Special dates for special events? Of course. But how about NEW DATES for NEW INSPIRATlONS, NEW METHODS, NEW INROADS. NEW VICTORIES???

How should we go into this new year? Your input is invited. Like the Lakotas. We all seen the headlines:

Lakota Indigenous Withdraw from Treaties with U.S. Shit, they aint stopped is not even the point. It is that they stiIl believe it is possible to win! JAM! Jamistas 2008, that be we. That be we...
